USA – Miami Beach and onwards…
Our journey started well in the calm and spacious environment of British Airways Club Heathrow to Miami. A glass of Champagne and a tasty light lunch with wine, served whilst catching up on the latest feature films.

Our first stop was Miami. I loved Miami Beach, Metropolitan Hotel, By Como, for its perfect position, just far enough away from ‘Miami Life’ and offering a more peaceful environment, although just walking distance to reach it, and even closer to the beach.

The fabulous cool, art deco, interior at the excellent award winning restaurant, where my Yellow Snapper, grilled on a bed of Kale and the delicious desert selection was a most memorable meal. The greeting upon arrival, by the staff at reception, was genuine, warm and friendly. I found all the staff at the Metropolitan, particularly attentive and caring throughout our visit.
A short 1 hr 45 minute flight took us from Miami to Providenciales, the soft white sands and crystal clear waters of the Turks & Caicos, Islands of the Caribbean. Our first stop; a 25 minute car journey to the Northwest Point Marine National Park and the stunning resort of Amanyara (peaceful place) Aman Resorts, the most tranquil resort I have ever visited.

I felt the stresses and strains of daily life just float away the minute I arrived. A truly luxurious resort, a very natural feel, flavours of Asia throughout, all wood, glass and water, surrounded by the most beautiful beach.
I loved the reflection pools, the beautiful spacious villas, many facing the ocean, others, tucked away amongst lush vegetation, some with their own reflecting ponds. The lovely staff, all of whom went about their duties in a quiet and gracious way, always available to assist and attend.

All meals were fresh, vibrant and delicious, the environment breathtakingly beautiful and tranquil.
Our last stop was Parrot Cay, By Como, A private Island (no paparazzi permitted here) a 40 minute boat journey from Providenciales, offering one of the most beautiful beach settings in the Caribbean, soft white sand and crystal clear waters.

The individual beach villas with private pool are the choice for the ultimate ‘get away from it all’ luxury Caribbean holiday in the sun. Again the dining options are perfect, with a great menu choice, in particular the fresh fish.

My favourite dining location was the terrace restaurant. I also have to mention Kamal our Butler, such a kind, thoughtful, gentle, man, he really went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. On one particular occasion, that sticks in my mind, he made myself and colleague a nice cocktail (Pina Colada – of course!). He brought them out to us at our villa, my colleague had just gone down to the beach but she was coming right back – I explained to Kamal, he said ‘but I must take this to her, because the ice will melt’, that’s care and dedication.

The ‘out of this world’ Coco Shambala Spa Pavilion was another treat, the vast open views from the reception area were unforgettable, many hotel guests just wonder up to the Spa to sit and gaze out to the views while sipping the delicious ginger tea. A vast selection of treatments are available, the full body massage one of the best I have had.
