France – Paris offers so much!

What can you say about Paris that hasn’t already been said?

One of the world’s most popular tourist destinations, Paris is a wonderful city to explore and there is a great deal you can do in a short visit.

We recently took a trip and set about seeing how much we could do to take in the sights of Paris in a day. To get around the city we bought an unlimited day trip ticket for the Metro and combined that with walking miles. There is so much to take in and of course, plenty of cafe’s at which to stop and refresh.

The Paris Metro – A great way to get around the City

A few things that we would suggest that you do to get the most out of your trip… pre book for the Eiffel Tower if you are planning to go to the top. It does cost a few euros extra to take the lift but it’s well worth it if you want to save your legs for later! The views from the top are stunning.

There are plenty of great views from ground level too, and we walked along the river from Notre Dame to the Louvre – a very pleasant stroll.

We took the Metro out to the Sacre-Coeur, which offers a completely different but equally beautiful view of the city, and also wondered round the Arc de Triomphe. It is truly amazing to watch the traffic going round the Arc and try to work out how there are no accidents, at least none that we saw!

You don’t need us to tell you that there are seemingly endless places for a great lunch – just follow your nose and like us, enjoy a great fun day!
