UAE – Atlantis The Palm, Dubai

UAE: Atlantis The Palm

Inspired by myths of the legendary Lost City of Atlantis, and the focal point of The Palm, everything about the Dubai landmark is exceptional.

Atlantis has over 1500 rooms and suites all sumptuously appointed including flat screen TV, complimentary WIFI, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. Views are either ocean or of The Palm (which is my suggestion). They feature either one king bed or two queen beds which can easily accommodate 2 adults & 2 children. On both of my stays, we upgraded to ‘The Imperial Club’ which gives you complimentary airport transfers, dedicated check in area upon arrival, a private concierge service offering help in planning excursions throughout your stay, private beach area, complimentary kids club access along with premium breakfast service, snacks throughout the day including ‘afternoon tea’ served 2-4pm and Happy Hour 5-7pm which is well worth the extra.

The choice of restaurants here are second to none. With over 23 restaurants and bars to choose from, you will never go hungry. One of my favourites was Gordon Ramsay’s Bread Kitchen which offers a British/European menu set in a lively warehouse-style gastropub. Another one of our family favourites was Ronda Locatelli serving authentic Italian dishes. Even the main buffet restaurants were amazing.

Obviously one of the main attractions at this hotel is the Aquaventure Waterpark. As a guest, entry here is unlimited. We used to go first thing and then go back again late afternoon. A plethora of exciting slides, rides and rapids along with The Lost Chambers Aquarium with over 65,000 marine animals including sharks and rays. I can still remember my first visit here and walking in the see the huge glass wall in front of me full of brightly coloured fish. You could sit for hours just watching.

On our 2nd visit here, we spent a day in Abu Dhabi which is just over an hour in a taxi and quite reasonably priced. We had a tour of the Grand Prix Track and then went to Ferrari World to experience the fastest ride in the world (well I chickened out but my husband & children went on it). I would highly recommend this is you have the time. We also went to the Burj Khalifa to experience the tallest building in the world. Jaw-dropping 360 degree views of Dubai and the desert beyond.
